Hi Folks,

Crazy and exciting meeting last night.  Thanks to all who attended and helped.

Of course, last night was our election meeting and I'm pleased to announce the following results:

Our new SPL will be Daniel Kurtz.  He will be assisted by ASPL Dane Rasmussen

Our new Patrol Leaders are:
Piffs: Lee Clendennen
Fromage: Sean Fink
Biohazards: Philip Lewis
Badgers: Tony Frediani

Our new APL-Patrol Quartermasters are:
Piffs: Corey Collier
Fromage: Ben Warms
Biohazards: Alexey Dillon
Badgers: John Myers

Additionally, we've filled (or continued) the following positions:
Scribe: Josh Rose
Historian: Justin Williams
Den Chief, 1954 Webelos Is: Kirkland Baen
Den Chief, 1954 Webelos IIs: Ben Warms

Congrats to all our new office holders!  All of these offices will accrue leadership credit.

Our Court of Honor will be held next Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church at the corner of Belvin and Bishop Streets.  Many thanks to David Bandy for arranging this location.  We'll be awarding more than 50 merit badges that have been earned since our last Court of Honor in April.  Additionally, we'll be awarding at least six rank advancements.

I'm pleased to announce that the Vicious Badgers have won our six month patrol point contest.  The members of the V.Bs will split a cash award of $100.  That award will be distributed to active members according to their attendance at meetings since the beginning of the point system.

As always, the Troop 1954 events calendar, this and all back newsletters,  and all sorts of other useful information is available on our website at www.sanmarcos1954.org

Announcements

1) Scout Hut Painting! Ms. Deborah Olson of Pack 1954 has agreed to coordinate the painting of the outside of our Scout Hut.  We will all be working on this on the weekend of October 9 and 10.  Please plan on spending at least some time during that weekend helping us on this project.  Scouts who help can get partial credit toward their Painting merit badge.  The project will begin at 9:00 on Saturday morning.  We'll be grilling hotdogs for lunch.

2) Court of Honor will be held on October 12 at 7:00 at Grace Lutheran Church, at the corner of Bishop and Belvin Streets.  We'll be having a dessert buffet to honor our award winners.  So, please bring a dish of something good.

3) Junior Leader Training will be held Saturday October 16 from 10-4 at Kiwanis Camp. Cost is $15 and includes lunch. All newly elected PLs who have not taken this course will need to take it at this time.  If you do not take it, you will forfeit your leadership position for this six month period.  For registration instructions please email me at r.warms@txstate.edu .

4) Hope you're all out there selling that popcorn.  I know some of you are and are doing well.  The deadline for submitting your popcorn sales is October 26.  Please bring all your order forms and money  to the meeting on that date.

5) The Cub Scout Halloween Carnival (and our Haunted House) is set for October 28th

6) We'll be camping at McKinney Falls with the 1954 Webelos on the weekend of October 29-31.  On that trip we'll be working on the Geology Merit Badge, as well as some Scouting Skills for the younger scouts (and I'm sure that the older ones could use some refreshing on that as well).
